Victoria Police - Mobile Camera Locations

Please be aware that while the list is accurate at the time of publication, it will be subject to change.

New Road Safety Cameras Operational

The fixed digital safety cameras on the corner of Princes Highway and Pioneer Road, Grovedale, and the corner of Royal Parade and Gatehouse Street, Parkville, became operational on 13 January 2010 as part of the significant upgrade to the traffic camera network. These fixed digital cameras are combined speed and red-light intersection cameras, and were placed at these sites as they were assessed as being sites with a high crash-risk.

Precommissioned cameras

Across the network, there are often a number of fixed digital safety cameras that are precommissioned, awaiting implementation to the live environment.

Before any camera site goes live, it is put through stringent testing to ensure the site is compliant. This includes physical assessment, software assessment, administrative assessment and image assessment.

These cameras operate just as normal cameras do – for example, they will flash when a car speeds through an intersection or runs a red-light – but while the camera is of precommissioned status, no fines will be issued.

Routine testing and maintenance will continue at these sites during the precommissioned phase.

Radar Detectors have had their day.It takes on a few milliseconds to obtain a speed reading with a laser gun. IF your radar/laser detector manages to sound a warning, its already too late. YOUR BUSTED.

The new generation of laser speed detection equipment is leaving radar based technology far behind. Laser is far more capable as a speed measurement tool than reflection prone radar equipment.

Laser detector jammers are emerging as the only tool capable of defeating laser guns and laser speed cameras such as the new Poliscan Speed Laser Speed Camera. The best on the market is the new BLINDER X-TREME 7 - series of multipurpose laser systems.

With BLINDER stealth technology you'll have time to slow down and avoid a speeding ticket without drawing attention to yourself.
