Speed Camera Signage
Large signs displaying the message "Speed and Red Light Cameras used in the ACT" are at the border on all major entry roads to the ACT. Further to this, there are some 41 signs on the major arterial roads which carry signs consisting of a “Speed Cameras used in the ACT” with a camera image. These are normally paired with a “50 unless otherwise sign posted” sign.
Mobile camera vans display portable signs displaying the posted speed limit for the road and a message "Your speed has been checked". These signs may be placed adjacent to or on the speed camera vehicle.
Speed Camera Operators are instructed to report any missing or damaged speed limit signs to the TCO, who will forward the information to Roads ACT. Should a sign be missing or damaged, operations may only continue at that site with the permission of the Manager TCO.
The following speed camera sites were made operational as of 13th August 2007.
- Tuggeranong Parkway, at the Cotter Rd underpass, both directions;
- Federal Hwy, approaching the Antill St roundabout, city bound.
The following sites were made operational as of 9 June 2008:
- Barton Hwy, between Curran Dr and Gold Creek Rd, both directions;
- Barton Hwy, between Gungahlin Dr and Ellenborough St, both directions;
- Monaro Highway, between Lanyon Dr and Sheppard St, northbound;
- Monaro Highway, between Mugga Lane and Isabella Drive, southbound.
The following sites were made operational as of Friday 29th August 2008:
- Federal Hwy, between Antill St roundabout and Zelling Rd, NSW bound ;
- Monaro Highway, at the Hindmarsh Drive overpass, both directions;
- Tuggeranong Parkway, at the Hindmarsh Drive overpass, both directions.
ACT Red Light Camera Sites
Cameras have so far been installed at the following intersections:
- Northbourne Avenue, Barry Drive and Cooyong Street, Civic
- Drakeford Drive and Marconi Crescent, Kambah
- Ginninderra Drive and Coulter Drive, Belconnen
- Ginninderra Drive and Aikman Drive, Belconnen
- Barry Drive and Marcus Clarke Street, Civic
- Hindmarsh Drive/Tuggeranong Parkway, Woden
- Hindmarsh Drive/Yamba Drive, Woden
- Northbourne Avenue/Mouat Street/Antill Street, Dickson
- Northbourne Avenue/London Circuit, Civic
- Hindmarsh Drive/Ball Street, Woden
- Canberra Avenue/Hindmarsh Drive, Fyshwick
- Gungahlin Drive/Gundaroo Road, Gungahlin
- Canberra Avenue/Captain Cook Crescent, Manuka Circle
